Khamphai "Kyle"'s Story

Life After graduating from The University of Iowa (B.S. in Biology and Spanish) I moved to Chicago, where I attended DePaul University and earned a Computer Programming diploma. Immediately I landed a job with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as a Programmer/Analyst. After 5 years with A.C. I was laid off. I then got a job with Corporates Systems, which later merged with Marsh & McLennan Co. This company too was downsizing and again I was laid off after another 5 years...I guess 5 is not my lucky number! I was engaged to be married with my college girlfriend of 6 years (you thought I was going to say 5, didn't you?). But I had been struggling with my sexuality for quite some time (since High School) and thought I was doing the right thing by living a "straight" lifestyle. I am now in a healthy, happy relationship with my partner of 6 years going on 7...hey we've made it past the unlucky 5, now we have to get through 7 year itch :) My partner, Gilbert, has a son (Joey, now 14) who moved in with us while we were in Chicago. We have since moved to Orlando, FL because we got tired of the cold. We've been here for almost 2 years and are loving it. I am currently working for AAA as a Data Quality Analyst. I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist but can't seem to be able to quit my fulltime job, as massage does not provide the steady income that fits my lifesyle. I enjoy music, salsa dancing, movies, swimming (which I can now do more often) and the company of good friends. My laptop and iPod are my new best friends.
